We’ve heard it said so many times: “I can’t find any good books for my teenage son to read!” By “good,” parents are usually referring to the man-making kind. Searching for edifying books that encourage biblical masculinity in a society that reeks of feminism, denounces chivalry in place gender fluidity, and is obsessed with zombies, death, and child-rendering make-belief is like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Our boys have been stunted and we enforce the problem when, instead of understanding the teenage years to be an age of opportunity, we assume an age of permissible rebellion. We are not raising boys, we’re raising men; it’s time to start treating them that way!
Without further ado, here’s a list of 85 man making books every young guy should read. We think these titles are appropriate for ages 15 and up, but please use your own discretion. You know your child better than anyone!
