Bobbles Water Bottle Review

Review Water Bottles by Bobble

I drink a lot of water. I try to drink at least something in between 2-3L (68-100oz) every day. My body got used to that while at home, out of job.

When I started working again, my usual 1L (34oz) Sigg Water Bottle wasn’t enough. I would drink it during the morning and was out of filtered water for the rest of the day.

I had already heard of Bobble but never got it because I didn’t have a real need for it. I knew where to get it and that I needed the bigger size (they come in 18.5oz/500ml and 34oz/1L); the real problem was choosing the color. They come in very cute, bright colors.

And I chose the magenta one. {I’ll probably choose a different color of cap every time I change the filter to try every color out}

Every bottle comes with a cap with a built-in carbon filter, that filters the water as you drink. Each filter is good for 300 water bottles – 2 months or 40 gallons/150 litres.

The carbon filter is made in US; bottle and filter housing are made in China. It’s BPA free and recycle, which is a plus in my book.

It’s not recommended to use “where the water is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality. Bobble reduces odor, chlorine and organic contaminants from regular municipal tap water only. Avoid storing in direct sunlight.” It’s also hand wash only.

The bottle is actually pretty sturdy. When I bought it and felt it, it felt quite soft and not resistant enough. But I have to say… the Bobble survived my car accident with only a few scratches in the cap. If it endured that with only scratches, it will also survive my daily use.

I love using it and how easy it is. I work in a school and what I usually do is take the bottle empty in the morning – it’s really lightweight when empty – and fill it with tap water during the work day.

I’ve been using it for about three weeks now and there is no odor in the cap, as some other bottles tend to develop, and I’m really glad I bought it.

One thing that bothers me. You can only drink a limited amount of water each time, because the bottle needs to be refilled with air as it goes. I’ve learned to work with that, and I’m now okay with it. BUT, as the air enters the bottle… it makes a very annoying noise. And seriously, using the Bobble at work, I can’t use it in certain occasions, like meetings and such, because I can’t really drink from it. Well, I could, but this noise wouldn’t go well with the meetings.

If I could change anything in this bottle, I would take care of this noise and make it inexistent.

Bottom line: if you drink a lot of water and want to make sure you’re having safe, filtered water wherever you are during the day, Bobble is a great solution. Even if you don’t choose this model, they have a lot more to choose from.
