Ingredients:
1 cup of all-purpose flour, sifted.
½ teaspoon of baking powder.
¼ teaspoon of baking soda.
¼ teaspoon of salt.
½ cup of butter.
2 oz of unsweetened baking chocolate.
1 cup of sugar.
2/3 cup of applesauce.
2 medium eggs.
1 teaspoon of vanilla.
½ cup of chopped pecans.
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease an 8-inch square pan on bottom.
Sift the flour, baking powder, soda and salt together; then set aside.
In a double boiler, melt the butter and chocolate together over medium heat.
Remove from the heat and add the sugar and applesauce.
Beat in the eggs one at a time.
Blend in the vanilla and dry ingredients; then stir in pecans.
Pour into prepared pan and spread evenly.
Bake for 40 minutes or until done.
Allow to cool, then cut into squares.
