Social Programs

Monthly Group Meetings:
AMOM hosts 10 meetings each year. Come join us on the last Monday of each month except May and December. The meetings are held in Kleberg Hall at St George's Episcopal Church. Each meeting includes social time, a brief business meeting, a general meeting with a speaker or activity, and then discussion groups for Expectant MOMs, New MOMs, Toddler MOMs, Preschool MOMs, and beyond. Typically a number of AMOMs will meet at a local restaurant following the meeting for socializing.

Austin Area MOM Playgroups:
If you would like some adult conversation while getting your kids tired out please join one of our Austin area playgroups. Once you are a member of AMOM you have access to playgroups all over town. Stick to one on your side of town or join other moms around and about Austin.

MOM's Night Out (MNO):
It's all about the MOM's. AMOM has two MNO groups divided north and the south. Have lots of fun and make friends with other MOMs. Want to bowl, watch a movie or go to your favorite local restaurant? Your MNO chair mom is taking suggestions. All members receive notification of upcoming events via BigTent.

Annual and Semi-Annual Events

Children's Consignment Sale:
The Children's Consignment Sale is a wonderful opportunity for AMOM members and non-members to buy and sell outgrown clothing and gently used items. The sale is advertised and open to the public on the second day. This event is held at the Austin Sports Center, 425 Woodward St, Austin, TX and is repeated twice a year in the spring and fall.

Spring/Fall Party in the Park:
Join us for a fun picnic in the park. To be held either in the Spring or Fall. Meet other families just as special as yours under a shady tree.

Austin Zoo Trip:
Join us as our multiples invade the Austin Zoo. If you would like more information on the Zoo please go to www.austinzoo.org.

Silent Auction:
Each year in the fall, AMOM hosts a Silent Auction fundraiser. It features items donated by local businesses, merchants, and individuals. Members and their guests are invited to peruse the donated items and place bids. Seventy-five percent of the funds raised during this event are donated to needy families or charities in our community. The remainder helps AMOM members attend state (TMOM) and national (NOMOTC) conventions. If you are interested in donating to our Silent Auction, please contact Debra Monks at atlarge@austinmoms.org

AMOM Photo Safari:
For the past three years the Austin mothers of multiples has been working with a local Area photographer, Matthew Lemke. He has captured beautiful photos of many of our AMOM families. The safari's are held in the Spring and Fall. Prices, Sitting Fee's and Dates are TBD. Please visit Matthew on the web at www.matthewlemke.com. Stay tuned for information coming on Big Tent.

March of Dimes March for Babies Walk:
This event is near and dear to many of our members. Please join Team AMOM as we raise money for this very important charity raising awareness of and support for premature birth around the country. Please visit marchforbabies.org for more information.

TMOM Convention:
Every year in April a group of AMOM heads off to the Texas Mothers of Multiples Annual Convention. Come out and meet many other special MOM's like you from all over the state of Texas. The 2011 convention will be in the Austin area! For more information about TMOM, visit them at tmom.net

NOMOTC Convention:
Annual Event that takes place in a different state every year. There is a lot to learn at this event. Workshops and Business meetings are very fun and informative. Make lifelong friendships with women from all over the nation. The 2010 convention will be held in Toledo Ohio. Come out and celebrate 50 Years of NOMOTC. Visit nomotc.org for more details.

Support Programs

Care Group:
Our fantastic Care Group volunteers provide meals to new parents or any other member who could use a hand.

NICU Support:
This program provides support, encouragement, and advice for those with babies in the NICU
